Butte County Art on Wheels provides a new program for young kids who suffer from trauma

Action News Now reported on the Art on Wheels founder Jess Mercer’s new program, the Balanced Brain Project, that will help youth that have experienced trauma. With funding from NVCF, Paradise Rotary and BCOE, Mercer will implement a 36-week curriculum for fourth through eighth graders to help with students who have suffered from PTSD.

Balanced Brain Project crafted for youth struggling with PTSD

Harmonious therapy: Chico music therapists create free choir for people with Parkinson’s

Chico E-R covered the North State Therapy Choir intended to help those with Parkinson’s disease with their speech. With help from the Parkinson’s Foundations and NVCF’s Music Therapy Impact Fund, Erin Haley and Pam Sachs were able to establish the choir.
