Since 2013, this $1,000 scholarship is offered annually in memory of Cynthia Ann Kennedy, mother of 2011 Chico High School graduate, Levi Stanton. This scholarship is financed by those who loved and supported Cindy and by those who continue to love and support her family. From mundane tasks to major endeavors, Cindy approached her life with a high spirit and a dogged determination. From a young age, she used a goal-oriented approach to realize her many dreams. These were, among other things, traveling in over 30 countries, graduating summa cum laude from California State University, Chico with a degree in Multi-Cultural and Gender Studies, founding Namaste House Children’s Home in Pokhara, Nepal and providing the support her son, Levi, needed in order to obtain a full scholarship from Princeton University. In addition, Cindy was a devoted friend to many and was always available to lend a word of advice, a sympathetic ear or a hand in support.
