Chico Women's Club

Fund Purpose

The Chico Women’s Club awards scholarships every year to graduating senior girls, who generally go on to attend Butte College. We also provide a venue for community benefit events, whether produced by non-profits or groups or individuals, on available Sundays for $80. We serve the community by supporting the arts and education through various events, including Bioneers, Bidwell Mansion Holiday Open House, Tellabration!, Weaving Women’s Wisdom, Death and Dying Support, Table Tops, Care to Share Tea, Ebony & Ivory events and an annual quilt raffle, among many other activities.

The Chico Women’s Club began in 1913 as the Chico Art Club. In the past, we spearheaded the development of Caper Acres, the restoration of Bidwell Mansion and donated Annie’s Glen to the City of Chico, among other numerous community projects. On our 100th anniversary, we commissioned the full restoration of our 1911 Steinway Grand Piano. The piano has now been used on numerous occasions for student recitals, choral events, celebrations and musical performances of many types. It is regarded as the “best piano in Chico.” The Chico Women’s Club has been a local community service organization for more than 100 years. We hope, with your help, to be here for the next hundred years offering our special gifts to Chico and surrounding areas.
