Campaign Message

Many people lost everything to fires and are trying to piece together their lives, bit by bit. Some just need a little hand to get back on their feet. Complicating matters, the global pandemic has made a difficult situation worse for people who have survived the disastrous wildfires but are now without work or desperately needed supplies. In addition to getting food, clothing and other essentials like hygiene kits, gas money, masks, hand sanitizer, and pet food to survivors, we often partner with other groups who are doing great work to help people in the area, increasing our ability to get fresh, healthy food and other supplies to more people.

Some survivors don’t have the means to get to pick up locations or other agencies, so we go to them. LiFrA helps people navigate difficult life situations and complex interactions with various agencies, connecting people to services they may not be aware of. In addition to providing essential supplies, we offer information and advocacy, a listening ear, a caring heart and are ready with warm hugs when people need it most.

LiFrA’s primary guiding principle is human dignity. Our goal is to help as many people as we can as they go about rebuilding their lives. With continued support, we are planning to get office space and computers, and a store front at which survivors can pick up furniture, clothing and other supplies for free. Your donations will help fire survivors with both long-term relief efforts and immediate needs as they navigate these challenging times. A gift to LiFrA during North Valley Week of Giving will provide another chance for survivors to receive support and rise above these disasters. Thank you.
