Campaign Message

Have you ever wonder who responds when you call 911, and Butte County Sheriff's Search and Rescue (BCSAR) is dispatched?

Most people who need our services meet us on one of the most awful days of their lives. A family member is missing. A vehicle has gone over the edge. A hiker has been injured in a remote area. BCSAR is an all-volunteer team comprised of ordinary citizens of this county, many with full-time jobs. We serve at the discretion and direction of the Butte County Sheriff's Office. When a 911 call is received requesting our services, pagers throughout the county are triggered, and team members leave what they are doing on a moment's notice to respond to the call. Many times, this occurs in the middle of the night. Family is left behind, and there is no way of knowing how long we will be gone. The members of our team do this because we are passionate about helping our community.

The best way you can thank BCSAR is by donating. We are entirely donor-funded and require an incredible amount of funding to operate safely and effectively. Thank you in advance for your support!
