Fund Purpose

The Celebration Foundation is dedicated to supporting our local breast cancer community by providing an inspirational and empowering showcase of the beauty, grace, and resilience of life beyond breast cancer.

More Info

The Celebration runway (fashion) show fundraiser showcases the beauty, grace, and resilience of life beyond breast cancer. Celebration Foundation presents up to 40 breast cancer survivors in an empowering and inspirational show of courage, fashion, hope, and talent. Models of all sizes, ages, and stages of treatment share a unique fellowship of breast cancer survivors as they participate in this extraordinary and emotionally charged event. Models are encouraged to join with former Celebration models and volunteers to assist with future Celebrations. First presented in 2009 by Butte/Glenn Medical Society Alliance, the Celebration delighted an audience of 200. In 2010, we received the acclaimed Soroptimist International Ruby award which led to a generous Virginia L. Jones Foundation grant, making possible the establishment of Celebration Foundation. Within two weeks of going on sale, tickets to all four Celebrations have sold out. Over 100 brave and beautiful models have enjoyed this empowering and inspirational experience with strong emotional appeal. To date, $116,500 has been donated to Enloe Medical Center’s Cancer Supportive Fund, Cancer Connections, and Celebration Compassion Fund as well as to Feather River Hospital’s Cancer Center Patient Assistance Fund and Paradise Hospice at Feather River Hospital. Celebration Foundation is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization operating under the auspices of the North Valley Community Foundation. Advisors are Henri Henderson, Traci Hunt, Kris Johnston, Deedee Lauer, Diana Lobosky, Charlene Mikeska and Dr. Lydia Schrader.
