Annie B's Breaks Record

North Valley Community Foundation (NVCF) is thrilled to announce this year’s Annie B’s Community Drive beat all existing records. The 8th Annual Annie B’s Community Drive raised $1,570,363 during its eight-week campaign. This year Annie B’s included 271 participating charities and charitable funds, and engaged thousands of donations from individuals, families and businesses.

This grant program has successfully demonstrated the power of an entire region coming together to make a difference. By creating a percentage grant pool (that adds money to donations made during the campaign), Annie B’s encourages donors to maximize their investments while engaging in a region-wide initiative. This grant program supports charitable causes across the board – from public safety to education, and the environment to services for older adults.

This year the Annie B’s percentage grant added seven percent (7%) to each donation made during the campaign.

“Philanthropy is one of the most powerful ways we can align our resources with our values. With each dollar we donate we are making a statement about who we are, what we care about, and the change we wish to see in the world. Annie B’s maximizes this engagement by lifting up charitable causes and donors alongside one another, with the unique incentive of adding a percentage grant to each donation made. We are proud to have created Annie B’s, if for no other reason than to remind us, that we – as a community, as a region, and as a people, are truly capable of solving the challenges we face – if we do it together!” Alexa Benson-Valavanis, President and CEO of NVCF.

During Annie B’s eight year history it has generated more than $8 million (including $800,000 from NVCF matching grant funds) for local charities in Butte, Glenn, Colusa and Tehama counties and charitable funds dedicated to efforts around the globe.

The Annie B’s grant funds are made possible through an anonymous donation of $500,000 (which is distributed $50,000/year during a ten year period). NVCF then raises monies from local sponsors to match this amount with an annual goal of distributing $100,000.

NVCF is a nonprofit, philanthropic organization that builds financial resources to meet community needs through grants and programs primarily for residents in the Butte, Colusa, Glenn and Tehama counties.  Contact NVCF to become a sponsor for next year’s grant pool or to make a gift to the Annie B’s Support Fund.
