The North Valley Community Foundation will hold the second annual Swing Fore a Cure golf tournament Monday, Sept. 14, at Butte Creek Country Club, designed to create awareness of the benefits of early cancer detection.The tournament is a scramble format, no handicaps necessary, with prizes awarded for closest to the pin on all par-3s. The field is limited to 128 golfers at a cost of $165, which includes a barbecue lunch, golf shirt and dinner accompanied by a live jazz quartet. Dinner only is $50. Individual entries will be paired with other golfers.There is a drawing, limited to those present, with a cost of $20 per ticket. The winner of the drawing receives a seven-night stay in a one-bedroom condominium at the Marriott Desert Springs Resort in Palm Desert.
