Chico, California (March 2, 2006) – “The North Valley Community Foundation (NVCF), through the initiative and gift of a local anonymous donor, will contribute $100,000 in gifts and matching funds for the endowment growth of numerous nonprofit organizations held at the Community Foundation.

NVCF is committed to helping nonprofit organizations strengthen their capacity and long-term financial sustainability through securing endowment. Therefore, beginning November 14, 2005, gifts of $5,000 will be made to ten local nonprofits. In addition to the $5,000 gift the nonprofit recipients will have an opportunity to match an additional $5,000. The total endowment growth for each fund can reach $15,000.

NVCF is a non-profit, philanthropic organization that builds financial resources to meet community needs through grants and programs primarily for residents in the Butte, Colusa, Glenn and Tehama counties. NVCF provides financial and administrative services to donors, professional advisors and nonprofit organizations with the goal of enriching the quality of life of its community members. Since 1986, over 200 individuals, families, businesses, and community groups have established funds at the Foundation. During the past four years we have contributed more than $1.1 million to the local communities.
