North Valley Community Foundation Provides Training
Chico, California (April 9, 2008) – Local nonprofit leaders will have the opportunity to participate in a training provided by the Nonprofit Leadership Institute, a program of North Valley Community Foundation, on April 25. The topic will be “Preparing to Plan”, designed to give nonprofit leaders the knowledge and skills required to implement and manage an effective strategic planning system. This class will be presented by Scott Winter, Vice President of business development for LearningChange.
This training is designed to help staff and board members alike. Scott Winter is an experienced trainer with a special interest in facilitating team growth, leadership and organizational development. Specifically, participants will learn: Four Principles for Effective Strategic Planning, Steps to Creating an Effective Strategic Plan, and Methods for Effectively Executing a Strategic Plan. Each participant will leave with a Planning to Plan Guidebook.
Strategic Planning is a key tool in helping to deal with a variety of issues that face all organizations. Organizations must adapt to change, whether it is in response to a dynamic environment or in order to achieve organizational goals. Strategic Planning is a proactive means to anticipate changes and take steps to deal with important issues.
This is a rare opportunity for local nonprofit leaders to benefit from the expertise of Scott Winter. His years of experience in this field, including work for large and small organizations throughout the United States and internationally, combined with a dynamic classroom style, promises to make this event useful and engaging.
The training will take place from 8:30AM-12:30PM on Friday, April 25, in Chico, at the Chico Campus of Butte Community College. The cost of this training is $60 per person.
