Financial Training to Strengthen Local Nonprofits
Chico, California (May 20, 2008) – Local nonprofit leaders have the opportunity to participate in training provided by the Nonprofit Leadership Institute, a program of North Valley Community Foundation. On Monday, June 2 , the topic will be “Financial Best practices for Nonprofits.” The facilitator for this session will be Vada Bouffard, consultant to nonprofit organizations with extensive accounting experience in the private and non-profit worlds.

All local nonprofit organizations are welcome to attend the next quarterly meeting of the North Valley Nonprofit Council, Wednesday, June 11. This will take place at Creative Catering in Chico, at Zanella Way and Morrow Lane, from 2:30 – 4:30 PM and is free.

On Friday, May 23, the topic will be “Is it all about the money? Resource Development for the Nonprofit Organizations.” The facilitator for this session will be Laura Cootsona, consultant to nonprofit organizations and Trainer for the Nonprofit Leadership Institute.
North Valley Community Foundation Provides Training
Chico, California (April 9, 2008) – Local nonprofit leaders will have the opportunity to participate in a training provided by the Nonprofit Leadership Institute, a program of North Valley Community Foundation, on April 25. The topic will be “Preparing to Plan”, designed to give nonprofit leaders the knowledge and skills required to implement and manage an effective strategic planning system. This class will be presented by Scott Winter, Vice President of business development for LearningChange.
Community Foundation Creates Local International Humanitarian Council
Chico, California (March 10, 2008) – A new group has been formed by North Valley Community Foundation to bring together local individuals who are active in international humanitarian efforts. This group, the North Valley International Humanitarian Council, will meet on a quarterly basis to share information, explore common goals, and strengthen local community members’ efforts to improve people’s lives throughout the world.

North Valley Community Foundation Provides Training to Strengthen Local Nonprofits
Chico, California (February 15, 2008) – Local nonprofit leaders will have the opportunity to participate in a training provided by the Nonprofit Leadership Institute, a program of North Valley Community Foundation. On March 14, the topic will be “Nonprofit Leadership; a Primer for Boards and Senior Staff.” This class will be presented by Laura Cootsona, primary trainer for the Nonprofit Leadership Institute and a local consultant to nonprofit organizations.
