Enloe Conference Center Room 101

You are invited to the launching of the North Valley DOVIA (Directors of Volunteers in Agencies). If you oversee, manage, organize, and need volunteers, come join others to launch a much needed support and training group through the North Valley Community Foundation. Join us August 20, Thursday, 8:30-10 a.m. in room 101 of the Enloe Conference Center located at 1528 Esplanade in Chico.

Join us at the Chico Elks Lodge for a fun evening to benefit LeapingStone Foundation which raises funds to provide education and sustainable development for villages in West Africa.

Program Purpose

The purpose of the program is to
a provide leadership development program that prepares existing and
future leaders to address organizational and civic issues with an
understanding of five priority areas within our region: Regional
Stewardship; Community Vitality; Economic Prosperity; Educational
Excellence; Environmental Quality. 

The program consists of one full-day training each month from
October - May, including a two-day leadership retreat in September.  

Join us for a fun evening sharing information with the public all the services suupported through donations during the Annie B's Community Drive. All local nonprofit organizations are welcome to attend the next quarterly meeting of the North Valley Nonprofit Council, Wednesday, September 9. This will take place at Beatnik’s Café (formerly Market Café), 1387 E 8th Street in Chico, from 2:30 – 4:30 PM and is free.

The Board Involvement class will provide participants with the
fundamentals of board and staff responsibilities, including legal and
fiscal issues, life cycles of boards, fundraising, conducting meetings,
and committee responsibilities. The class is designed to benefit both
board members and senior staff of nonprofits. This is especially
important during the current economic downturn, as board effectiveness
becomes more important.
