Is it all about the money? Resource Development for the Nonprofit Organization. Fundraising is rarely seen as a perk of working at a nonprofit organization. More grey hairs and furrowed brows come from raising money than from anything else. This training will help organizations deal with the seemingly endless shortage of operating and program funds. Participants will learn ways to improve annual fundraising, including special events, direct mail, and major donor efforts. Laura Cootsona, the Foundation’s Nonprofit Consultant will introduce the topics of planned giving and capital campaigns. The course will provide new ways of planning, creative ways to shift old habits, and methods to communicate the organization’s story to increase community awareness and financial support. This class benefits both staff and board members regardless of organizational size.

Class Description:
Engaging Events – The Keys to Success - Instructor Ryann Cox
Are your events missing the mark? Are you able to capture potential
donors and motivate them to give? Events are more than just checklists
and centerpieces. Yes, successful events should be well-organized and
presented in an attractive manner…. Engaging events harness the
potential donor in a deliberate and designed approach.
Become skilled at the keys to success to orchestrate an engaging event.
This class will cover not only the basics of event management, but the
strategy to bring your events to the highest level.

With a passion for nonprofits and the community, Ryann Cox has spent the entirety of her professional career involved in both. As the former Director of Development for Women’s Resource Clinic, Ryann developed their very successful benefit dinner that drew nearly 900 guests annually, as well as several other lucrative events.
Ryann Cox Events was brought to fruition when Ryann stepped down from her years in nonprofits to have her first child. “Although I thought I would have a bit of time off, the clients kept finding me,” she said. Her business serves private, corporate and individuals' needs, through either full service event planning or consulting services. Clients include The Jesus Center, Work Training Center, and North Valley Community Foundation. Ryann resides in Chico with her husband and two young daughters, Regan and Paige.
